DRDO Young Scientist Laboratories (DYSLs) are located in five cities viz Bengaluru Mumbai Chennai Kolkata and Hyderabad. Each lab will work on a key advanced technology of importance to the development of futuristic defence systems viz Artificial intelligence Quantum technologies Cognitive technologies Asymmetric technologies and Smart materials. DYSLs will employ only scientists under age of 35 to develop cuttingedge and futuristic technologies for military weaponry. It will boost indigenous research capabilities in the defence sector by involving youth in defence research related activities. SWARNA JAYANTI FELLOWSHIPS Recently Swarna Jayanti Fellowships have been awarded to 14 Scientists associated with projects containing innovative research idea and with potential of making impact on Research & Devlopment in the respective disciplines. The Swarna Jayanti Fellowships
scheme was instituted by Government of India to commemorate Indias fiftieth year of independence. Under this scheme a selected number of young scientists with proven track record are provided special assistance and support to enable them to pursue basic research in frontier areas of science and technology.
